Impact of Climate Change on Total Factor Productivity of Agriculture in District Multan

Agriculture is particularly vulnerable to climate change because it faces open weather conditions. In uncontrolled circumstances, it's difficult attain better total factor productivity (TFP), which characterizes agriculture growth in an economy. The study estimated the TFP of Pakistan’s first step by employing Tornqvist- Theil index number approach for period 1990-2019. time series data thirteen crops and four livestock categories from 1990 2019 were collected different sources estimate TFP. average annual was be 2.14 percent period, contributed about 56 agricultural output growth. results also indicated that sector highest (0.05 percent) during 1990-2000, while lowest (-2.14 last decade. After, calculated used as dependent variable second analysis. Then we impact on Multan district. For this ARDL bound test estimation long run climatic variables. showed there are positive effects both minimum maximum temperature area. drought floods have negative but lag their became One important variables rain had growth, with 1% increase rainfall 0.22% at lag. Improving adaptation mitigation practices related droughts would required sustainable District.
